Listing guidelines

The rules. Short and fair.

What can be listed, how claims and reviews work, and what gets a listing or review removed.

Who can be listed

  • Businesses that do work at or on a customer's home: trades, repair, cleaning, outdoor and moving services.
  • One listing per business location. A business that serves several cities uses its service area, not duplicate listings.
  • Listings must show the real business name, a working phone number and an accurate service area.

Claiming a listing

  • Only the owner or an authorized employee may claim a listing.
  • We verify claims by an email at the business's own domain or a phone callback to the listed number, then review each claim before approving it.
  • Once approved, the listing shows a Verified badge and the owner can edit it.

What owners may post

  • Accurate hours, services, service area, photos of your own work, and license and insurance details that are true and current.
  • No misleading claims, fake credentials, other businesses' photos, or keyword-stuffed names (use your real business name).
  • Owner FAQs must be real answers about your business.

Reviews

  • Reviews must describe a real experience with the business.
  • Owners may not review their own business, pay for reviews, or offer anything in exchange for a review.
  • We remove reviews that are spam, fake, hateful, contain personal information, or are about a different business. We don't remove a review just because it's negative.
  • Owners on paid plans can post one public reply to each review.

Paid placements and ads

  • Featured listings carry a Top Guy badge and appear first on their city and trade page. There are at most 3 Featured spots per city and trade.
  • Ads are labeled as ads and never disguised as listings or reviews.
